Whale Watch
We reached Provincetown ahead of time so we had to sit around and kill time. When we finally boarded our ship, the Dolphin VII, we went up to the main deck and a woman told us about the different types of whales that we might see and how to tell them apart. After that not much happened as we drove up to Stelwagon Bank, an underwater bank above the Cape. Stelwagon Bank used to be an island, but when the glaciers melted and the water level rose it became submerged. Fish are attracted to banks, which attracts the whales. I decided to go to the front of the ship for no apparent reason. As soon as I got there the annoucer yelled that there was a whale at 9 o'clock. Soon everybody rushed over. I took picture after picture in the hope that I would get a good one. Soon I ran out of film and decided to give other people a chance to go up front. I then went into the cabin of the boat and had something to eat. While I was eating a whale came very close to the side of the boat but I did not get a chance to take a picture. Soon we headed for Provincetown after the exciting trip.
