Herring Run
Our first stop was Herring Run. This is the stretch of water that herring swim up every Spring to mate and lay eggs. This is a little like what salmon do except, unlike the salmon, the herring don't die after they mate but instead they head back downstream. Unfortunately we arrived too late and did not see a single herring.
